Official Notice / Sip & Snack Cars

Table notices like this were placed on dining car tables advising customers that dining cars would be replaced by "Sip & Snack" cars. Intercity bilevel cars #600 and #903 were converted with microwaveovens and replaced the 48 seat diners on trains 153, 216, 214, 209. This operation was operated by contract with Albert Pick & Company. This spelled the end of the Chicago and Northwestern Dining Car & Commissary Department which ceased public operations on February, 2nd 1969.
